Greetings to the members of the Lackawanna Presbytery,
As of June 1st, I am the new Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Lackawanna. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Rev. Scott DeCaro, and I am a lifelong member of the PC(USA). I have been a teaching elder for about three years now, and I am currently the pastor at the United Presbyterian Church of Alpha, New Jersey. While I would not call myself a polity nerd, I do have the utmost respect for the way we do things in the PC(USA), and I feel that our traditions and the way we work together hold an important place even in a changing world.
That being said, I am a computer geek, a self-proclaimed Trekkie, and I have a healthy appreciation for both the written and spoken word – both what I have written and published as well as the work of others. When I’m not in church or otherwise doing God’s work, I spend much of my time with my wife Kim, our two hounds, and our cats.
I look forward to working with all of you as your Stated Clerk. I am here to support you and your congregations in your work, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns I may be able to address.
